Description

This is a 1963 Fender Champ - and one of the rarest Champs at that! It's a black tolex covered F51 Champ, which was only made for a short time between 1963 and 1964 as Fender had run out of their tweed material and transitioned to the black tolex era of amplifiers. This one has been recapped and serviced as you can see by the Tube Amp Doctor-branded parts. The amp has some pitting on the top of the chassis and an engraving of perhaps a previous owners name. The reason for details like this are lost to time, but it always adds to the lore of a vintage piece of gear. The amplifier sounds wonderful and the black tolex is in overall very good to excellent condition.
