The Bellini Dress is a downloadable sewing pattern for a modern knit maxi dress, with splits at the sides. The Bellini has baseball-style raglan sleeves, a crew neckline and comes with options for both short and long sleeves.It’s a great pattern for bold fabrics, colourblocking or neutrals. This easy-to-wear style is trans-seasonal and great for layering.Skill Level:These instructions are aimed at people who are beginners to sewing knits. You will need a basic sewing vocabulary and a good understanding of your sewing machine. Sizes:• 'Standard' Sizes A-G (US 2-14, AUS & UK 6-16) See the 'sizing guide' image for measurements. Sewing Machine Requirements:• An overlocker (serger) threaded up for stretch knits is required for the main seams. • A sewing machine with a ballpoint needle and a twin needle for the hems.Material Requirements:This pattern is designed for knitted fabrics with a minimum of 5% lycra or elastane. The fabric should have at least 20% stretch to allow the neckline to stretch over your head. Ribbing works especially well, and jersey, double jersey or interlock will also work.Be sure to pre-shrink your fabrics, especially if you’re combining two fabrics.
