This listing is for one Clover brand Hera marking tool. Hera have been used in Japan for centuries and are used to make non-permanent crease "marks" on silks and other fabrics. It leaves no residues. Use this tool to create creases in fabrics. It has been a favorite tool of quilters for years to create patterns and guidelines on quilts. A hera is used in a similar manner to a paper bone folder and will make creases that can be seen on the front and back of the fabric. This hera is comfortable to hold and can be used to create curved or straight lines. I love to use my hera to create a perfect hem. I first crease the fabric where I would like it to be folded (photo 5). I use my ruler for this. Then the fabric can easily fold, due to the crease, and be ironed (photo 6). Use the hera on a softer surface, such as an ironing pad, if you are only creasing one layer of fabric. No extra "padding" is needed if you are marking a "quilt sandwich" that has 2 layers of fabric and batting. Just lay your quilt on the floor and start marking your designs on your quilt! Hera can also be used with chalk or waxed transfer paper sheets (photo 7). Place the fabric on a hard surface when using transfer paper. This item was made in Japan.
