The term “ribbon” refers to the fact that the cutting loops on this tool are made of flattened metal ribbons with sharpened edges. Ribbon tools are used for cutting, shaping, trimming and hollowing both wheel-thrown and sculptural forms. This tool consists of a smooth hardwood handle with 1/16" wide clock-spring steel ribbons held firmly by brass ferrules. Suitable for light-duty cutting work. A quality tool at a great price!
