The Blue-Rock Casting Kit is based upon a high-quality dental stone which offers great strength, accurate reproduction, and no shrinkage or distortion. We offer two formulations of Blue Rock. The first is formulated for general use and is used in temperatures above freezing. The second formulation is designed for use at temperatures near or below freezing and contains a premeasured quantity of solution containing a freeze-retardant and setting-accelerant. An excellent kit for all impressions, and particularly good for impressions in snow. Simply add the premeasured solution to the zip-top bag containing the premeasured casting medium (2.2 lbs) and knead with both hands until smooth. Pour the mixture into the impression area. Typical casts are 1/2” to 3/4” thick and generally do not require damming or reinforcement. Each kit contains a 2.2 pound bag of Blue Rock casting medium and a bottle containing a premeasured Blue Rock Solution packaged in a sturdy cardboard box. Allow 15 – 20 minutes to set.
