Those with a Fixed Mindset tend to give up. They believe situations are final. It is what it is , there’s nothing that can be done to change it. Those with a Growth Mindset tend to keep trying. The goal is to change/improve. The current situation is a beginning, not the end.
High school parents won’t participate in Parental Involvement activities. Example only, this will work with any topic that needs to be addressed.
Reflect on the idea that High school parents don’t participate in Parental Involvement activities. Can we change the way we think about this What is the root cause of the idea that High school parents don’t participate in Parental Involvement activities Lack of parental involvement is a restraining force toward student achievement. That means that it is moving you away from your goal of increased student achievement.

Parents naturally disconnect in high school; however, teachers can develop relationships with parents to build the connection to involve parents in the educational process. This is only an idea used for this demonstration, not the only possibility to a Fixed Mindset thought. This will vary by school, school level, team etc.
