Cut sponges regrow, often healthier and bigger than the original, within a few years, and any pieces broken off will settle back to the ocean floor, connect to a new object and create a new sponge. Over time this harvesting method can dramatically increase the population density and overall health of the sponges being harvested. We do try and clean them very carefully, but as these are natural products, sometimes tiny bits may escape our careful checks. After each use, squeeze or shake out excess water and hang to dry. Natural sea sponges are perfect for your daily bath or shower, and with normal use and proper care, can last for years.
