The Woolly Thistle is proud and honored to bring Peace Fleece, a wool with purpose, to our shop. Peace Fleece is a small New England fiber company with a mission. Peace Fleece works to support pastoral communities that have been historically in conflict with the US. Currently Peace Fleece is working with the Navajo to offer fair market prices for the Rambouillet sheep wool raised by families in the Navajo Nation. Peace Fleece's yarn is made of this wool blended with a domestic fine wool and mohair for strength. Peace Fleece worsted weight yarn is a beautiful tweedy yarn that has bounce. Choose from 9 richly heathered shades and let your imagination do the rest! Content: A blend of 75% Native/Non-Native American fine wool (Rambouillet) and 25% Texas mohair. Weight: Worsted Weight Skein details: 2-ply. Approx. 200 yds per 4oz skein. Gauge: 4 sts per inch on US 8 needles. Care: This yarn will dramatically soften and fluff up with washing and use. Peace Fleece say they actually throw finished sweaters into a cold gentle wash cycle with very good results. Please remember that every effort is taken to represent the true colors of the yarn and that monitor settings will vary.
