When my coworker G. was saving up for her first It bag, she forewent pedicures, ate leftovers and skipped weekends out-of-town to afford it. At first G. was totally psyched about her purchase--and she did wear her bag every single day. Flash forward six months when she noticed the white leather was starting to crack and show hints of tan. Suddenly her luxury handbag was lookinggrubby. "I could have bought Christmas presents for my entire family with what I paid for this," she said. I feel her pain.
