Description

A step by step tutorial on how to do a provisional cast-on with a crochet hook. A very fast and easy knitting method for beginners.
The idea behind this method is creating a row of chain stitches around your knitting needle with a crochet hook in a different yarn. This allows you to unravel the cast-on edge after you finished knitting and picking up the stitches to continue knitting in the other direction. It's best to use a bit of slippery scrap yarn for this technique. Cotton or superwash wool is a good choice. Don't pick anything fuzzy because it will make unraveling the edge later on very difficult. A nice contrasting color is recommended.
